President
Dr Ajeenkya DY Patil is the President of Ajeenkya D Y Patil University and Chairman of Ajeenkya DY Patil Group. His influential leadership extends to several other organizations, including Vice President of Continental Medicare Foundation, Managing Director of Trancefx Studios, Vice President of DY Patil Educational Academy, and Trustee and Pro-Chancellor of Dr DY Patil University in Navi Mumbai.
Dr Patil has achieved remarkable success throughout his career with an MBA from Richmond College, United Kingdom, and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Central Lancashire, United Kingdom. He was appointed Chairman of the Central Board for Workers Education (CBWE) by the Ministry of Labour and Government of India. The President of Guyana, appointed him as the Economic Advisor. In July 2007 and April 2010, he was nominated as the Chancellor’s nominee on the Management. The Council of the University of Mumbai.
Under his visionary leadership, the University is scaling new heights of excellence in all aspects offering a learning environment that values academic and non-academic aspects of learning. His steadfast entrepreneurial drive has empowered him to lead numerous ventures in diverse industries, ranging from healthcare and education to technology and agriculture. Hon. Shri. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Jain
Vice Chancellor
Dr. Rakesh Kumar Jain is a distinguished academic and researcher with over 38 years of experience in higher education and leadership roles. As the Vice Chancellor at Ajeenkya DY Patil University, Dr. Jain has been pivotal in driving institutional growth and achieving national recognition.
With a PhD in Transportation Engineering, an ME in Town Planning, and a BE in Civil Engineering, Dr. Jain is renowned for his expertise in transportation, geotechnical engineering, and town planning. He has authored over 07 books and published over 150 research papers, significantly contributing to these fields. His research has attracted nearly 1 crore in funding, and he has successfully guided 12 PhD students.
Dr. Jain’s contributions extend beyond academia, serving on various university and state-level urban development committees. He has held prominent positions such as Chairman of the Board of Studies and Member of the Academic Council. His dedication to quality education is evident in his role as a Program Evaluator for the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in India. His tenure as Chairman/Member of the Expert Committee at NBA, New Delhi, underscores his commitment to outcome-based education. Recognized as an “Ambassador” for guiding institutes towards NAAC accreditation and Margdarshak by AICTE, for guiding other institutes of NBA. Dr. Jain epitomizes quality assurance and good governance in higher education.
